Tomas Albrektsson, RCPSG, started working at the laboratories of P I Brånemark in 1967. Albrektsson has devoted his research career to osseointegrated oral, craniofacial and orthopaedic implants. His present research is centered on reasons for marginal bone loss around oral implants that largely depends on immunological reactions rather than being a replica of disease around teeth. Implants are very different from teeth. Albrektsson is presently professor emeritus of Gothenburg UNiversity and he serves as visiting professor of Malmö University, Sweden.

Dr. Cooper formerly served as Program Director of Advanced Prosthodontics and Stallings Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics (ACP), a former ACP President and received the ACP's 2004 Clinician/Researcher Award. He also was named the recipient of the 2009 International Association for Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award for Prosthodontics and Implantology.
Dr. Cooper has one of the strongest international reputations for innovation, perspective, and patient-oriented research and clinical care in the world. He has led an innovative team in translational research evaluating the role of a variety of pro- and anti-inflammatory bio-markers as well as innovative medical device designs to create research-oriented clinical solutions for relevant patient care.
After earning his DDS from New York University, Dr. Cooper went on to earn a PhD from the University of Rochester, New York, and a Certificate in Prosthodontics from the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester. Later, he completed a two-year research fellowship at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research in Bethesda, MD.

Irena Sailer received her dental education and Dr. med. dent. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tübingen, Germany in 1997/ 1998. In 2003 Dr. Sailer received an Assistant Professorship at the Clinic of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Sciences in Zurich. From 2010 on she was an Associate Professor at the same clinic. In 2007 Dr. Sailer was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics, Dental College, New York University, USA. Additionally, since 2009 she holds an Adjunct Associate Professorship at the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Robert Schattner Center, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia, USA. Since September 2013 she is the Head of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva. Irena Sailer is a Specialist for Prosthodontics (Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry), and holds a specialization degree for Dental Implantology (WBA) of the Swiss Society for Dentistry. She is a Member of the Board of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry and of the Swiss Leadership Team of the ITI (International Team for Implantology). Furthermore, Irena Sailer serves the Scientific Boards of the European Association of Osseointegration and the Swiss Society of Implantology. Irena Sailer is currently a Board Member of the EAO, an Active Member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and an Active Fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics.

Frank Schwarz has a postgraduate degree in Oral Surgery and was appointed as Professor and Head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Centre for Dentistry and Oral Medicine (Carolinum), Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and Editorial Board Member for Clinical Oral Implants Research. He is the President of the German Association of Oral Implantology (DGI), a Board Member of the Osteology Foundation and was awarded the André Schröder Research Prize in 2007, the Miller Research Prize in 2012 and the Jan Lindhe Award in 2017.
Michael Sonick, DMD, is an internationally known, highly regarded authority in the field of dental implantology and periodontology. He completed his undergraduate degree at Colgate University. He received his DMD at University of Connecticut School of Medicine and his certificate in periodontology at Emory University. He received his implant training at Harvard University as well as the Branemark Clinic in Gothenburg, Sweden.
A full-time practicing periodontist in Fairfield, Connecticut, he is also a frequent guest lecturer in the international program at New York University School of Dentistry and the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He lectures worldwide on the subject of aesthetic implants, periodontal plastic surgery and guided bone regeneration. He is the co-editor of the multi-language textbook, Implant Site Development. He serves on the editorial boards of numerous journals including the Compendium of Continuing Education and the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, and also writes and publishes numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
